Premium SMS services open up a variety of possibilities for content providers, application or service developers and marketers looking to make money with their mobile applications, services or payment solutions. Premium SMS works through the use of Short Codes (short, easy to remember phone numbers) and a corresponding tariff. The tariff charge automatically appears on the mobile user’s monthly bill or is deducted from their pre paid card.

MT billing (Mobile Terminated): This messages are billed when received at the users handset.
MO billing (Mobile Originated): This messages are billed when sent from the users handset.
